Inspired by Boston’s 1872 World Peace Jubilee, a full classical orchestra will headline this celebration with an hour of sensational live music. Learn how to dance to a Johann Strauss, Jr., waltz with our professional dance groups, and be awed by the magic tricks of Boston’s favorite magician from this era, Jonathan Harrington. Historical costumes and live bicycle performances by The Wheelmen will send you right back to the late 1800s.

Pony rides, children’s games and many more activities will delight friends and family. Dairy products provided by H.P. From musical acts to face painting, the 13th Annual WBOS EarthFest is the perfect place for families and children. WBOS Earthfest will feature an expanded Family Area.

Presented by Whole Foods Market and free to the public, EarthFest will once again be a celebration for the Earth showcasing environmentally friendly products, groups, and activities. EarthFest will also feature an all-star musical line-up, an interactive family area and more. Produced in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the event is expected to draw more than 125,000!

Little Groove’s upbeat, educational songs are equally groovy for parents and kids. Sara Wheeler, who has toured the US, Europe, and Japan as an acoustic folk artist, formed Little Groove in 2006 and has since recorded over 100 children’s songs. The band’s CD “Building Blocks” received honors including the 2008 Parents’ Choice Silver Award and the NAPPA Award. Sara is also the founder of Baby Wiggle, a music education program for children in the Boston area.

Uncle Moishy is a Jewish entertainer who travels worldwide doing concerts for children. His songs are upbeat and lively and he encourages kids to sing along. His concerts are aimed at children 0 - 12 yrs old, although they can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

What makes you special? We will read the book What I Like About Me! and discuss what makes each of us similar and different. Children will look at a few portraits from Historic New England's collection before creating their own self portraits.
